1st Semester Evaluation

My Most Successful Photo

This is one of my most successful photos. It was taken at Mt. Tabor Park back in 2017. The water captured the reflection of everything perfectly. The colors in the photo were enhanced to make it less dull, but everything else is perfect.

Original

Original Fixed

These photos were originally from my commercial photos project. I didn't realize how bland the original was until I looked back at it. I was not satisfied with original so I decided to add a little more to it. I slightly blurred out the background to add more focus to the player, and added more text to make the ad more convincing. Adding more text makes it more of an ad, which is what I should've done before.

Surrealism

Demon Kitty
The reason I created this photo was because I wanted to show the evilness in my cat. I made her look this way because she can be very vicious when messed with. The fire in her eyes shows that she's ready to attack.

Half Beast, Half Human
I have always wanted to create a photo like this. I've always seen other people do it, so it's an incredible opportunity to have the ability to do this. I'd say that everyone has a spirit animal in their soul. Wolves are probably one of the most common spirit animals. So I decided to use one for this photo and merge it with my friend's photo.

Project 3: Commercial and Fine Art

Fine Art Portraits
This photo is one of my favorite portrait photos I have ever taken. The detail, the contrast, the lighting all bring the photo together. With the blurred background, the model is in full focus.

This photo provides a calm yet lost feeling. My purpose for taking this photo was to focus on the feeling the model radiates. The dullness in contrast causes a sense of lostness, and the lack of sharp detail enhances that feeling.

Commercial Portraits
In this photo, I wanted advertise the players that will help tutor any future tennis players. The facial expressions on the models provide a welcoming feeling, drawing in future tennis players. The way they are posing lightens up the mood in the photo.

This photo was created as a cover for a potential tennis magazine.  The placement of the text will draw the viewers eyes to what is being sold. The player's expression provides a warm welcome to those who want to sign up for tennis lessons.

Commercial and Fine Art

Dorota Gorecka
This photo almost immediately puts me in a state of calmness. The colors used in the photo are very soft, there's no harsh detail or colors anywhere. This also provides a sense of mystery.

Michael Schnabl
This photo is absolutely stunning. The color choice is incredible; muted autumn-like colors go extremely well in the photo. There's also so much texture and contrast that almost brings the photo to life. The detail in the photo is intricate,  you can see every single detail.

This magazine cover is calling for me. I am having an urge to explore the entire world, or at least find this location the magazine is depicting and explore that. The colors are so vibrant and they put me at peace. The text is very minimal, giving the entire focus to the landscape.
This cover is aesthetically pleasing because of how symmetrical (almost) everything is. The background is a simple color, yet it brightens up the colors on the model. There isn't a lot of text on the magazine which is nice because having too much text would distract the viewer from the model.
Comparison

Fine Art Portraits
In fine art, the goal is to put the entire focus on the model. The photo must express some form of emotion, either through detail or color.  It is suppose to tell a story about the model or the entire photo itself. The editing in the photo, such as editing the lighting, color or contrast will enhance the meaning behind the photo.

Commercial Portraits
In commercial portraits, the goal is to sell the product or magazine. The cover is suppose to hook the viewer into reading the magazine. the better the magazine photos are edited the higher the chance of people will read or purchase the magazine.
